Linda Shilliam FMAAT - AAT Licensed Accountant

Hello a little background about me, I am a Fellow Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians and a qualified City & Guilds Adult Education Tutor, I live with my cat Lucy in Hurstpierpoint, a lovely village in Mid-Sussex, very central for me to be able to cover West Sussex and East Sussex.

Having worked in Accountancy since leaving school I decided to study for the AAT qualifications, qualifying as a member in 2000, a few years later, once I had undertaken the required amount of time working at senior level I became a Fellow Member.  I have worked in Practice, Commerce and Industry gaining good all round understanding of a variety of businesses.

The Construction Industry in particular is one of the industries I have been involved with since leaving school and continue to do so today, taking on board all the changes that come our way and working alongside my clients in the industry.

As well as Crescent Accounting I have been in business myself in the leisure industry, soaps & toiletries production and the hackney taxi trade so I understand the time and commitment it takes to run your own business.

I am very keen to ensure my clients are not overwhelmed with the Finance aspect of business, explaining in detail where needed the various terminology and expectations of business finance.

Following my qualification as an AAT member I went on to study the City & Guilds Certificate in Adult Education, proceeding to teach within Colleges, Accounting practices and giving One to One training, devising and  delivering my own study content as well as teaching Pitman's Computerised Accounts courses and City & Guilds accounting certificates.  I now run my own Workshops for Bookkeeping and Xero Training.
